VERSION 2.6.7 – Change in GPI:

GPI documents (bibliographic data combined or not with legal event data) are now downloadable in ODT format. ODT files can be used, e.g. with OpenOffice Writer and Microsoft Word. Contrary to the RTF format, multiple documents can be cumulated in one single ODT file.

VERSION 2.6.4 – Changes in GPI:

The full text (text of descriptions and claims) is now searchable via new search criteria (FTXT, DESC and CLAIM) and amended search criteria (WORD now includes words in titles, abstracts, descriptions and claims).

Completeness information is displayed in the popup Completeness status of searchable full text available from the Help menu (to date, the full text of EP and WO publications in English, French and German is searchable). Additional searchable full-text collections will be included regularly and announced in the GPI forum.

The full text is available for search and translation, and not for download.

VERSION 2.6.2 – Changes in PATSTAT Online:

VERSION 2.5.9 – Changes in PATSTAT Online:

• The 2019 Autumn Edition is now available.
• The underlying DBMS has been upgraded from MS SQL Server v2012 to v2017. Now new T-SQL string functions are available, like TRIM or STRING_AGG. STRING_AGG aggregates multiple values into a single string and is especially useful in combination with GROUP BY.

• The 2019 Spring Edition is now available.
• Attributes APPLN_TITLE and APPLN_ABSTRACT are now text-indexed and can be efficiently retrieved with the CONTAINS or FREETEXT SQL-function.

VERSION 2.5.2 – Changes in PATSTAT Online:

Two new and interactive charts have been added to the Statistics menu:

• The Top elements chart is a bar chart which displays the offices, applicants, inventors, IPC or CPC classifications with the most applications. IPC and CPC classifications can be drilled down from section to subgroup.
• The Timeline chart displays the number of applications over time.

VERSION 2.5.1 – Changes in EP full-text search:

The full-text of international publications of Euro-PCT applications published by WIPO as of 2019 week 1 and not republished by the EPO is now searchable once the international publication has been mentioned in the European Patent Bulletin. VERSION 2.4.4 – Changes in PATSTAT Online:

In addition to the existing "Expert" SQL query interface, a "Beginners" query interface has been added to support users not yet familiar with SQL. It is possible to answer a small set of frequent information needs by filling out a very simple query form, which automatically constructs the corresponding SQL query. This query can then be executed or amended in Expert mode.

VERSION 2.4.3 – Changes in GPI:

Inventor and applicant names in Asian languages are now searchable making search results even more complete. Read more about this in Patent Information News and on the GPI forum.

• GPI:
  • New criteria added: WBIB (bibliographic data of the current week) and FAMID (simple family ID). See usage examples in the GPI forum.
  • Modification of existing criteria: For ISR (is representative), PRA (active indicator) and ISG (is granted), accepted values are now YES or NO and no longer Y or N.
