Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0000071A1] A stabilised thymidine phosphorylase preparation is obtained by addition of inorganic phosphate and uracil, the stabilisation being most effective at pH 7. <??>Furthermore, bovine serum albumin is added to prevent loss of enzymic activity on filtration. The solution may be kept sterile by addition of sodium or potassium azide. Culture media containing it are used, for testing the susceptibility of bacteria to anti-folate antimicrobial agents, thymidine phosphorylase counteracting antagonists to antifolate agents.
