[origin: US4224836A] A tilting drive arrangement for a converter has a spur gear wheel fastened to a tilting trunnion of the converter and engaging with at least two pinions driven by a common motor. At least one shaft is provided for a common rotation of the pinions. The pinions are mounted in a carrying gear casing that is overmounted on the trunnion in a position outside the horizontal plane extending through the tilting axis of the converter. A torsionally elastic shaft between the pinions or a pivotally mounted reduction gear on each pinion are provided to produce a uniform torque distribution to the pinions.

Bei Kippantrieben für Konverter mit einem Großrad (7), welches an einem Kippzapfen (3) des Konverters befestigt ist, greifen mindestens zwei von einem gemeinsamen Motor (16) angetriebene und durch eine Welle (23, 24) verbundene Ritzel (11, 12) in das Großrad (7) ein. Um einen solchen Kippantrieb einerseits bei Verwendung von nur zwei Ritzeln unterhalb der Arbeitsbühne in platzsparender Weise anordnen zu können und anderseits für schwere Antriebe, die mehr als zwei Ritzel aufweisen, vorzusehen, sind die Ritzel (11, 12) in einem am Kippzapfen (3) fliegend gelagerten, tragenden Getriebegehäuse (8) in einer Position außerhalb der durch die Kippachse (13) des Konverters (1) gehenden Horizontalebene (15) gelagert.
