Abstract (en)
Avisible range light polariser with an iodine stained polyvinyl-alcohol film is prepared by treating the previously oriented and stained film with a borating solution containing a high level of potassium iodide. The insufficient red light dichroism resulting from this treatment can be avoided by incorporating zinc ions into the polariser after staining.
