[origin: US4141961A] {PG,1 This invention is a process for producing gaseous hydrogen sulfide in concentrated form from sulfur dioxide obtained from a dilute gas source by (1) reacting the SO{HD 2 {L with Na{hd 2{l CO{HD 3 {L to form Na{hd 2{l SO{HD 3{L , (2) reducing the Na{hd 2{l SO{HD 3 {L to Na{hd 2{l S, (3) reacting the Na{hd 2{l S with NaHCO{HD 3 {L to form H{HD 2{L S and Na{hd 2{l CO{HD 3{L , (4) recycling part of the Na{hd 2{l CO{HD 3 {L to the SO{HD 2 {L reaction step, (5) reacting the remainder of the Na{hd 2{l CO{HD 3 {L with CO{HD 2 {L and H{HD 2{L O to form NaHCO{HD 3 {L and (6) recycling the NaHCO{HD 3 {L to the H{HD 2{L S formation reaction.
