[origin: ES471505A1] Polycarbodiimide is present as a solid phase in a liquid polyorganosiloxane, preferably being formed therein by mixing a polyisocyanate with the polysiloxane followed by a carbodiimidization catalyst. If the polyorganosiloxane contains hydroxyl groups it can be chemically bonded to the polycarbodiimide. The composition can be cured to solid plastic masses of superior properties by adding a curing agent for the polysiloxane.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft mit Polycarbodiimid modifizierte Polysiloxane, bei denen Polysiloxan und Polycarbodiimid als unterscheidbare Phasen - mit chemischer und/oder physikalischer Bindung - vorliegen. Die mit Polycarbodiimid modifizierten Polysiloxane werden dadurch hergestellt, dass man das Organopolysiloxan mit Di- oder Polyisocyanaten in Gegenwart eines die Carbodiimidbildung beschleunigenden Katalysators vermischt. Die Polymermischung besteht zu 3 bis 80 Gew.% - bezogen auf die Gesamtmischung - aus Polycarbodiimid.
