[origin: US4213790A] A process for producing cement wherein preheated, partially calcined powder-form raw material is finally calcined in a fluidized bed and is discharged to a cooler through which a cooling stream of air passes. A part of the cooling air passes into the fluidized bed from below and another part of the cooling air, together with the partially calcined material, passes into the fluidized bed from the side. The rates of material flow to and from the fluidized bed is regulated to maintain a substantially uniform intersticial ratio between the upper and lower regions of the fluidized bed.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Herstellung von Zement durch Brennen von pulverförmigem Rohmaterial in einer Wirbelschicht. Das vorgewärmte Rohmaterial wird - ehe es zusammen mit Brennstoff (15), vorgewärmter Luft (27) sowie einem rezyklierten Teil des gebrannten Gutes (11) in die Wirbelschicht eingebracht wird - in einer Vorkalzinationszone (2) mit zusätzlichem Brennstoff bis auf einen hohen Entsäuerungsgrad vorkalziniert. Aus der Wirbelschicht gelangt das Gut in eine unmittelbar darunter befindliche Kühlzone (5), deren Kühlluftstrom teils von unten (19), teils von der Seite (30) her in die Wirbelschicht eingeführt wird. Es ergibt sich ein sehr stabiler Betrieb der Wirbelschicht, ein gleichmässig gebranntes Endprodukt und ein niedriger Wärmeverbrauch.
