A safe for the deposit of keys (19), the door (3) of which can be locked up by a locking mechanism (2) operable by an electric driving means which is controlled by a time switch which is program-controlled with respect to the opening period, characterized in that the time switch - electronically composed as known per se - is exclusively controlled by means of a program supply not accessible from the outside ; the program supply containing a predetermined one year program is arranged in a space of the safe, the space being not accessible from the outside ; that the safe is provided with an alarm circuit ; that in the interior of the safe besides of that a separately lockable key deposit housing (21) is provided in which key deposit chambers are provided each of which being connected with detecting means for a presence and identification control of the keys (19) and that the detecting means is connected with one or that alarm circuit which is activated at all times with the exception of the opening intervals of the safe door (3) predetermined by the program supply.
