Die Erfindung betrifft eine bisher unbekannte Verbindung, 1-Methyl-isoguanosin, und ein Verfahren zu deren Herstellung durch Isolierung aus natürlichen Vorkommen in an sich bekannter Weise oder durch ein chemisches Verfahren. 1-Methyl-isoguanosin kann als Muskelrelaxant und/oder als Mittel zur Beeinflussung des zentralen Nervensystem und/oder als antiinflammatorisches und/oder antiallergisches und/oder hypotensives Mittel Verwendung finden.
