[origin: ES472837A1] In the production of a foamed synthetic material by the reaction of starting materials which undergo a polymerization, polycondensation or polyaddition reaction to produce a high molecular weight synthetic material in the presence of a blowing agent, e.g. a polyurethane, or by foaming an unfoamed thermoplastic synthetic material by means of a blowing agent, the improvement which comprises employing 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-chloroethane as the blowing agent, optionally in admixture with 1,1-difluoro-2-chloroethane.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von geschäumten Kunststoffen durch Umsetzung von zu hochmolekularen Kunststoffen im Sinne einer Polymerisations-, Kondensations- oder Polyadditionsreaktion ausreagierender Ausgangsmaterialien in Gegenwart von Treibmitteln oder einem an sich bekannten Verschäumen eines nicht geschäumten, thermoplastischen Kunststoffs mit Hilfe eines Treibmittels, wobei man als Treibmittel 1,1,1-Trifluor-2-chloräthan, gegebenenfalls im Gemisch mit 1,1-Difluor-1,2-dichloräthan einsetzt. Das Verfahren eignet sich insbesondere zur Herstellung von Polyurethanschaumstoffen.
