An apparatus intended for mixing very rapidly reactive gases entering in a reforming oxygen reactor, in which a highly exothermic reaction takes place between an oxidizing gas having a high oxygen content, and a process gas containing hydrocarbons and eventually water-vapor, hydrogen and carbon oxides. This apparatus is mainly composed, on the one hand, of a refractory casing (4), into which the process gas is injected tangentially so as to impart the gas a helicoid motion, and on the other hand, of a plurality of parallel channels (7, 10), into which the oxidizing gas is injected at one end to go out at the other end through an orifice of which at least one of the sizes is smaller than 20 mm. The apparatus, according to the present invention, is particularly suitable for reforming oxygen reactors, for producing synthesis gas, operating in more severe conditions than usual.

Un appareil destiné à mélanger très rapidement les gaz réactionnels entrant dans un réacteur de réformage à l'oxygène, dans lequel se produit une réaction fortement exothermique entre d'une part un gaz oxydant, contenant une teneur élevée en oxygène, et d'autre part un gaz de procédé contenant des hydrocarbures, et éventuellement de la vapeur d'eau, de l'hydrogène, et des oxydes du carbone. Cet appareil est composé principalement, d'une part d'une enveloppe réfractaire (4), à l'intérieur de laquelle le gaz de procédé est injecté tangentiellement, afin de lui imprimer un mouvement hélicoïdal, et d'autre part d'une multitude de canaux parallèles (7, 10), dans lesquels le gaz oxydant est injecté à une extrémité pour sortir à l'autre à travers un orifice dont l'une au mouns des dimensions est inférieure à 20 mm. L'appareil objet de la présente invention est particulièrement adapté aux réacteurs de réformage à l'oxygène, pour la production de gaz de synthèse, fonctionnant dans des conditions plus sévères que celles utilisées habituellement.
