[origin: CA1089669A] A method of producing fibre-reinforced concrete articles and articles produced by this method in which a reinforcing framework consists of an open thread lattice having a predetermined spacing between threads of the lattice and wherein reinforcing fibres of a length less than the spacing between threads of the lattice are adhered to the lattice with random orientation. The prepared reinforcing framework is then worked into bulk cement while in the plastic condition and the cement is then allowed to harden. Either natural or synthetic fibres may be used for the thread lattice or the reinforcing fibres and these can also consist of steel fibres. In articles made by the method, a polyurethane foam core can be included for lightness and good thermal insulation properties.
