[origin: US4338043A] Method and installation for depositing materials on an ocean bed in accordance with a given line in which the autonomous vehicle is displaced on the ocean bed by accurately following said line whereby the vehicle is provided with a hopper, a ship is moved on the surface of the ocean roughly in accordance with said line, the materials are discharged from this ship towards the hopper and are guided by means of a pipe suspended beneath the ship and whose lower end is not integral with the hopper, wherein the propulsion means of the pipe disposed at the lower end thereof are operated so that the lower end of the pipe is forced to remain above the hopper.

Procédé de dépôt de matériaux sur les fonds marins selon un tracé donné et dispositifs de mise en oeuvre dudit procédé. Le procédé se caractérise en ce que: - on déplace un véhicule autonome (16) sur le fond sous-marin (4) en lui faisant suivre avec précision ledit tracé, ce véhicule étant muni d'une trémie (34), - on déplace à la surface de l'eau (8) un navire (6) en lui faisant suivre en moyenne ledit tracé, - on déverse dudit navire (6) lesdits matériaux (36) vers ladite trémie (34) en les guidant à l'aide d'une tuyauterie suspendue (10) audit navire (6) et dont l'extrémité inférieure (14) n'est pas solidaire de ladite trémie, - on agit sur des moyens propres de propulsion de ladite tuyauterie pour maintenir l'extrémité inférieure (14) de ladite tuyauterie au-dessus de ladite trémie (34). Application à la pose de câbles électriques sur les fonds marins.
