Method for regulating the longitudinal force in rolled stock (5) between roll stands (1, 2) of a continuous rolling mill with individual drives (3, 4), characterised in that the speed (v) of the rolled stock (5) at the delivery side of a roll stand (1, 2) and the peripheral speed (vu ) or the rotational speed (n) of the roll of this roll stand (1, 2) are measured and a mathematical logic value derived from these two values is used as a reference magnitude in order to regulate a given force.
