[origin: WO7901076A1] On the head of a conventional drawing apparatus, ratchet means consist of a toothed circular plate (1) integral with the rule-carrier, a circular plate (2) integral with the turning handle, the plates (1, 2) being concentric and rotating in a same plane, and a third toothed plate (3), forced towards the rules by springs (4) which mesh on the plates (1) and (2) making them integral with each other. This plate (3) is movable along a hub (E), perpendicularly to the axis of said hub; it may be disengaged from the plates (1) and (2) by exerting a pressure on a pusher (5) which actuates a lever (6) which lifts a small plate (7) connected to the small disc (3) by columns (8).

Sur une tête d'appareil à dessiner classique, les moyens d'encliquetage sont constitués par un plateau circulaire denté 1, solidaire du porte-règle, un plateau circulaire 2 solidaire de la poignée tournante, les plateaux 1,2 étant concentriques et tournant dans un même plan, et par un troisième plateau denté 3, poussé vers les règles par des ressorts 4 qui s'engrène sur les plateaux 1 et 2 en les rendant solidaires. Ce plateau 3 est mobile le long d'un moyeu E, perpendiculairement à l'axe dudit moyeu; il peut être dégagé des plateaux 1 et 2 en exerçant une pression sur un poussoir 5 qui actionne un levier 6 lequel soulève une plaquette 7 reliée au plateau 3 par des colonnes 8.
