Abstract (en)

When welding the mask plate (8) onto the mask support frame (3) in the relevant machine, in the past it was normal simply to place a spacer gauge (5), carrying a multiplicity of spacers (5) on its edges, on the inner surface of the associated front glass (1). It was found that better results are achieved if the mask plate (8) is mechanically held at four points on the spherically curved part on the diagonals, and to be precise, in each case at a distance of approximately two thirds of the half-diagonals from the centre point. A total of only twelve spacers (6) are then required at the edges, instead of sixty. <IMAGE>

Bisher was es üblich, beim Anschweissen des Maskenbleches (8) an den Maskentragrahmen (3) in der betreffenden Maschine auf die Innenoberfläche des zugehörigen Frontglases (1) lediglich eine Abstandslehre (5) einzulegen, die an ihren Rändern eine Vielzahl von Abstandshaltern (5) trug. Es wurde gefunden, dass bessere Ergebnisse erzielt werden, wenn das Maskenblech (8) an vier Stellen auf den sphärisch gekrümmten Teil auf den Diagonalen mechanisch gehalten wird, und zwar jeweils in einer Entfernung vom Mittelpunkt von etwa zweidrittel der Halbdiagonalen. An den Rändern werden dann nur noch insgesamt zwölf statt sechzig Abstandshalter (6) benötigt.
