[origin: US4284224A] A rivet apparatus is provided for securing together a first element to a second element made of solid metal. The apparatus comprises a support 3 which is common to the first element and to a hollow charge 4. A metal rivet or nail 5 embedded in the charge of the hollow charge, in the axis of a liner 6 of the hollow charge 4. The support 3 has a surface 7 intended to be applied against a second hard metal element 2 and approximately centered on the focal point F of the hollow charge 4. Upon detonation of the charge, the metal rivet or nail 5 enters the second element 2 thereby binding first and second elements together.

Dispositif de rivetage, destiné à fixer un premier élément 1 à un deuxième élément 2 fait de métal dur. Ce dispositif comprend un support 3 qui est commun au premier élément 1 et à une charge creuse 4 et un clou ou rivet métallique 5 qui est noyé dans le chargement de la charge creuse 4, dans l'axe X-X du revêtement 6 de celle-ci, le support 3 comportant une surface 7 destinée à s'appliquer sur le deuxième élément 2 et approximativement centrée sur le foyer F de la charge creuse 4. Applications: charpentes métalliques, construction navale, etc....
