[origin: ES481713A1] An adjustable-curvature structure, e.g. for seat backs, comprises a pair of support belts which are flexible but substantially inextensible, and a pair of tension belts juxtaposed with the support belts. A grid of transverse bars can span the support belts and a tension device is provided between the two pairs of belts so that the support belts can be bowed when the other belts are placed under tension. The curvature character is controlled by spacers which interconnect the support and tension belts to limit the distance between them at various locations along their lengths.

Biegsame elastische Stütze, bestehend aus mindestens einem Band (1, 2) elastischem in der Längserstrekkung im wesentlichen undehnbarem oder nicht zusammendrückbarem Material und einem am Band befestigten, etwa parallel zu diesem angeordneten Zugelement (3, 4), bei dessen Spannung das an einem Ende oder an einer anderen Stelle abgestützte Band mehr oder weniger krümmbar oder belastbar ist, wobei ein oder mehrere Zugbänder (3, 4) vorgesehen sind und die mit ihren Breitseiten einander zugekehrten oder nebeneinanderliegenden Zug- und Stützbänder (1-4) durch ein oder mehrere über die Bandlänge verteilt oder an einem oder beiden Enden angeordnete Abstandhalter (22-29) zusammengehalten sind.
