[origin: US4309698A] For the early detection of an abnormal rise in the temperature in an enclosure to be protected, a large number of micro-containers are arranged in the enclosure. These micro-containers are, for example, incorporated in the paint coating the walls of the enclosure. The micro-containers are filled with an extinguishing gas and produce when they burst a characteristic noise which is detected by microphones. The installation also comprises for the purpose of avoiding false alarms and achieving an adequate discrimination of the useful signal from that produced by the normal surrounding noise, a filtering and processing circuit which operates in an essentially digital manner.

Cette installation comporte pour détecter de façon précoce, une élévation anormale de la température dans une enceinte à protéger un grand nombre de micro-capsules (M) qui y sont réparties, par exemple en étant incorporées dans la peinture en revêtant les parois. Les micro-capsules sont remplies d'un gaz extincteur et produisent lors de leur éclatement un bruit caractéristique qui est détecté par des microphones 1a, 1b...1n. L'installation comporte également, afin d'éviter les fausses alarmes et d'obtenir une descrimination adéquate du signal utile par rapport à celui engendré par du bruit normal ambiant un circuit de filtrage et de traitement qui fonctionnne essentiellement de façon digitale.
