[origin: WO7900666A1] The measuring device is used for the measurement and the setting of the chill (1), as well as for determining the wear of the wall thereof, in a continuous casting of metal or steel where the variations of the hollow space of the chill with respect to the theoretical dimensions must be measured and evaluated. The device comprises a gauge (7) which can be introduced through the top part of and into the hollow space of the chill and fixed into position. A distance indicator (13), can be forced to slide inside the gauge, all over the height of the chill. The distance indicator is provided with two measuring needles (14a, 14b) aimed at being in contact with the reference points to be measured, each of them being movable inside the housing (13) of the distance indicator against a resistance force, this displacement being registered by an electric measuring instrument.

Le dispositif de mesure sert a la mesure et a la mise en place de la coquille (1), de meme qu'a la determination de l'usure de la paroi de cette derniere, ceci dans une installation de coulee continue pour metal ou acier ou les modifications de l'espace creux de la coquille par rapport aux dimensions theoriques doivent etre mesurees et evaluees. Le dispositif comprend un pied de mesure (7) qui peut etre introduit par le haut a l'interieur de l'espace creux de la coquille, puis fixe dans sa position. Un indicateur de distance (13), peut coulisser de force a l'interieur du pied de mesure sur toute la hauteur de la coquille. L'indicateur de distance est muni de deux pointes de mesure (14a, 14b) destinees a entrer en contact avec les points de reference a mesurer, chacune d'elles etant deplacable a l'interieur du boitier (13) de l'indicateur de distance a l'encontre d'une force de resistance, ce deplacement etant enregistre par un instrument de mesure electrique.
