Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0009588A2] 1. Developing apparatus for developing a flat diazotype material according to the semi-dry process, comprising a rotatable applicator roll and a rotatable press roll pressing on the applicator roll, whereby a developing zone for the flat diazotype material is formed between the two rolls, further comprising a pressing roller to exert an additional force, via the press roll, on the applicator roll, the load acting on the applicator roll being uniformly distributed in axial direction across the applicator roll and substantially extending in the principal plane, in which the shafts of the rolls lie, characterized in that the uniformly distributed load acting on the applicator roll (5) and combined of partial forces, namely a force exerted by the pressing roller (1) on the press roll (4), the weight of the press roll (4) and the own weight of the applicator roll (5) is in the range between 264,87 N (27 kp) and 403,44 N (41 kp), and further characterized in that the determinative relationship I**3/(E.J) for the bending of the press roll (4) and the applicator roll (5) under uniform distribution of load on each roll, results in 1,32.10**-3 cm/N (12,9.10**-3 cm/kp) for the press roll (4) and 4,39.10**-4 cm/N (43,1.10**-4 cm/kp) for the applicator roll (5), with I being the length, E the modulus of elasticity of the material and J the geometrical moment of inertia of the press roll and of the applicator roll, respectively.
