A bending apparatus for manufacturing a spacing frame for insulating glass panes from a hollow profile member filled with hygroscopic material, the hollow profile member being cut on the side (56) lying on the inside of the manufactured frame and the parts of the hollow profile member adjacent the cut being bent against each other to form a frame corner with a pair of clamping jaws (2) lying near the bending region to hold the hollow profile member to be bent, and an abutment bar (8) mounted to pivot about a bending abutment (9), characterized in that the clamping jaws (4, 12) of the pair of clamping jaws (2) are arranged so as to close at right angles to the bending plane and one clamping jaw (4) is connected to the abutment bar (8) so as to pivot together.
