Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0009769A1] 1. Apparatus for connecting a line to an insulated energy supply cable above ground by means of a connecter comprising at least one electrically insulating housing in which is arranged an electrically insulated contact piece with which the line is adapted to be connected and in which housing is fixed a non-insulated section of a contact body which projects from the housing and which, outside the housing, is covered over at least part of its length by an electrically insulating covering, the housing having a cavity between the contact piece and the non insulated section of the contact body, which cavity is designed to receive a fuse which is adapted to be electrically connected at one end thereof with the contact piece and at the other end with the non-insulated section of the contact body, characterized in that the connecter is in the form of a branch connecter (3 ; 203) adapted to be connected to an insulated overhead line (2) and having a connecting channel for a branch line, in that the contact body is a contact pin (7 ; 107 ; 207) whose section (7 ; 107 ; 207) projecting from the housing (4, 5 ; 104, 105 ; 204, 205) is adapted to have at least a portion of its length inserted in the connecting channel of the branch connecter and to be contacted by it while being connected into it, and in that both the housing (4, 5 ; 104, 105 ; 204, 205) which protects the fuse against water and the branch connecter (3 ; 203) are designed to be electrically fully insulated.
