[origin: US4293297A] A burner is described which comprises a cylindrical body, orifices for the exit of the mixture, the orifices being arranged in groups of slits and being of minimum width and moderate length, set side by side in parallel sub-groups, so as to give rise to fan-shaped flames with a single flame front corresponding to each group. In this manner the noise of the burner is reduced and a great stability of the flame is achieved which makes the flame itself regular. This fact produces advantages both as to uniformity of operation and efficiency of the burner. According to one embodiment of the invention, the first plate of the burner is covered by a second plate which is provided with orifices through which the flames coming from the groups of slits pass.

Sur la paroi cylindrique du corps du brûleur sont ménagées des ouvertures pour le passage du mélange combustible, ces ouvertures étant réalisées sous la forme de fentes (5) présentant une largeur minime et une longueur réduite. Ces fentes (5) sont rassemblées en groupes eux-mêmes divisés en sous-groupes parallèles, en donnant ainsi lieu à des éventails de flamme présentant un front de flamme unique en vis-à-vis de chaque groupe. On réduit ainsi le bruit causé par le brûleur en même temps qu'on garantit une grande stabilité de la flamme; la régularité de cette flamme se révèle avantageuse aussi bien sur le plan de l'uniformité de fonctionnement que sur celui du rendement du brûleur.
