[origin: EP0010106A1] The launder comprises a trough main body of refractory material that is supported by U-shaped support elements e.g. of steel plate. The ends of the support elements on one side of the trough are connected by a bar element and a parallel bar element connects the support element ends on the opposite side. At intervals along the length of the launder, there are cut-out portions exposing portions of the bar elements on opposite sides of the trough. These exposed portions constitute attachments to which hooks or other lifting devices can be attached. The launder can be transported safely and easily and the attachments do not project and hinder flow of material in the trough.
