[origin: CA1149614A] FIXED BED GASOGENE A gasogene comprising a treatment chamber, means for moving the materials to be treated horizontally into the chamber towards the forward end thereof, an exit for the gas produced by the gasogene, means for recycling gases having passed through the materials contained in the gasogene and means for producing hot combustion gases connected to said recycling means and to air or oxygen feeding means. The recycling means comprise sucking means for setting up a forced stream of gases through the materials to be treated and recycling gases having a temperature preferably above 500.degree.C, and the hot combustion gases are produced at the forward end of the gasogene in front of the natural talus created by the materials contained in the gasogene, whereby the speed of treatment is increased and the materials to be treated are subjected to the hot combustion gases on the whole section of the treatment chamber.

Un gazogène comporte une chambre de traitement horizontale (10), des moyens (21) pour faire progresser les matières à traiter dans la chambre vers l'avant de celle-ci muni d'une ouverture d'évacuation (14), une sortie (13) pour les gaz produits, des moyens (36,31) d'alimentation en gaz comburant et un conduit (41) de recyclage de gaz ayant traversé les matières à traiter. Pour accélérer le traitement et attaquer les matières à traiter par des gaz chauds sur toute la section de la chambre (10), le conduit de recyclage (41) comporte des moyens d'aspiration pour établir une circulation forcée de gaz et recycler des gaz à au moins 500° C et les gaz comburant et recyclés sont injectés à l'avant du gazogène pour que les gaz de combustion résultants attaquent les matières à traiter par l'avant du talus naturel (T) qu'elles forment dans la chambre (10).
