Abstract (en)
The devices carry a lining of refractory material flush at the surface. They are made entirely of copper and consist of a flattened body comprising at least one water circulation conduit of substantially rectangular section and a plurality of horizontal fins attached integrally to the said body, these fins having a width at least equal to that of the said body and a uniform spacing equal to at least ten times the thickness of the fins. This system additionally forms a reinforcement permitting good mechanical attachment of the refractory. The device illustrated has on its hot face four compartments bounded by ribs and side walls. These compartments are filled with a suitable refractory material, e.g. puddled clay. <IMAGE>

Les éléments de refroidissement métalliques selon l'invention portent un garnissage en matériau réfractaire affleurant en surface. Ils sont formés entièrement en cuivre et constitués d'un corps aplati comprenant au moins un conduit de circulation d'eau de section sensiblement rectangulaire, ainsi que d'une pluralité d'ailettes horizontales solidaires dudit corps, ces ailettes ayant une largeur au moins égale à celle dudit corps, ainsi qu'in espacement égal à au moins le décuple de l'épaisseur des ailettes. Ce système constitue en plus une armature permettant un bon accrochage mécanique du réfractaire. L'élément illustré possède à sa face chaude quatre compartiments délimités par des nervures et des parois latérales. Ces compartiments sont remplis avec un matériau réfractair adeéquat, p.ex. un pisé.
