An inclined continous conveyor for transport trolleys (2) equipped with a manually-releasable brake, which comprise two wheel-carrying axles (20) with different respective wheel spacings, the conveyor comprising separate tracks (5, 6), mutually displaced in height, for the wheels of a respective axle (3, 4) together with circulating drive chains which engage the transport trolleys (2) laterally, the tracks (5, 6) being prolonged in the form substantially flatly extending inlet and outlet lengths in which the brake is ineffective, characterised in that over the inlet and outlet lengths the drive chains (7) are movable to a limited extent transversely to their circulatory planes and over the inlet length they are guided obliquely from the outside into a position of engagement with the transport trolley (2), and over the outlet length they are led obliquely away outwards from an outer position of engagement of the transport trolley (2).
