In a Wehnelt cathode, the cathode mounted on a dielectric disc (2) is pressed by a compression spring (10) against a support in the Wehnelt cylinder base (4). The compression spring (10) is a component of a two-part spring system (6), the second spring element of which has spring tongues (7) with tabs (8) which engage in cut-outs (9) in the cylinder wall and fix the position of the compression spring and hence of the dielectric disc (2). <IMAGE>

In einer Wehneltkathode wird die an einer Isolierscheibe (2) befestigte Kathode durch eine Andruckfeder (10) gegen eine Auflage im Wehneltzylinderboden (4) gedrückt. Die Andruckfeder (10) ist Bestandteil eines zweiteiligen Federsystems (6), dessen zweites Federelement Federzungen (7) mit Nasen (8) aufweist, die in Durchbrüche (9) der Zylinderwandung eingreifen und die Lage der Andruckfeder und damit der Isolierscheibe (2) fixieren.
