1. Dipping headlamp for vehicles with a paraboloidal reflector (1) with an approximately rectangular light exit aperture provided by an upper (3) and a lower (2) horizontal flattened portion and with a second reflector (9) which is located in this reflector above the horizontal plane (12) passing through the optical axis and having a shorter focal length and a small light exit aperture, and the focal point of which is located at least approximately at the focal point (F) of the outer reflector (1) and shortly before or at the start of the coiled lamp-filament (8), and which forms a length of a paraboloid of revolution which is opened towards the horizontal centre plane (12) of the outer reflector (1) and the lateral edges (16, 17) of which form a shadow edge extending above the horizontal plane (12) of the outer reflector (1) passing through the optical axis (11), characterised in that the lateral edges (16, 17) of the inner reflector (9) each extend in a plane (18, 19) which lies in the optical axis (11) and which forms with the horizontal plane (12) extending in the optical axis an acute angle (alpha) which amounts to approximately 20 degrees in the case of a focal length of the outer reflector (1) of 60 millimetres, the upper horizontal flattened portion (3) of the reflector (1), including the region of transition (14) to the parabolic reflection surface (13), being shaded off.

Fahrzeugscheinwerfer für Abblendlicht mit einem paraboloidförmigen Reflektor (1), dessen Lichtaustritt durch eine obere und untere Abflachung rechteckförmig ist und in dessen obere Hälfte ein weiterer Reflektor (9) mit kleinerer Brennweite eingesetzt ist. Dieser Reflektor (9) schattet die obere Abflachung des ersten Reflektors (1) und den sich daran anschließenden Übergangsbereich (14) zur parabolischen Fläche gegenüber der Lichtquelle (8) ab.
