Apparatus for the filling of moulding boxes or core boxes with granular foundry moulding materials, having a container for accomodating the moulding material, which container has a lower rim adapted to the upper rim of the moulding box being filled and adapted to be placed on said upper rim and is capable of being closed by a bottom plate constructed as a slide element, characterized in that apertures (10, 11) which can be closed are provided in the bottom plate, that some apertures (10) serve for introducing the moulding material from the container into the moulding box and that the other apertures (11) are connected to aire extraction ducts (9) which shield these apertures (11) relatively to the interior (16) of the container (15) and thus relatively to the moulding material (19).
