The material contains at least in one layer a silver halide emulsion which has been surface-fogged by chemical means or by exposure to light, and a gamma -formylpentamethinecyanine dye as sensitiser, and exhibits distinctly improved sensitivity in the long-wave region of visible light.

Direktpositives photographisches Material wird beschrieben, das in mindestens einer Schicht eine auf chemischem Wege oder durch Belichtung oberflächenverschleierte Silberhalogenidemulsion und einen γ-Formyl- pentamethincyaninfarbstoff als Sensibilisator enthält. Das erfindungsgemässe direktpositive photographische Material weist eine deutlich verbesserte Empfindlichkeit im langwelligen Bereich des sichtbaren Lichts auf.
