[origin: US4287522A] The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for producing a plurality of liquid threads and droplets in order to record information on a moving data carrier, whereby a film of liquid is produced on an inclined cascade outlet face, the film is broken up into liquid threads, the liquid threads are broken up into droplets which fall vertically downwards in free fall and the droplets which are unwanted for information are separated and fed to a collector.

Die Erfindung beinhaltet eine Vorrichtung und ein Verfahren zur Erzeugung einer Vielzahl von Flüssigkeitsfäden und -tropfen zur Aufzeichnung von Informationen auf einen bewegten Datenträger (9), wobei auf einer Ablauffläche (1) ein homogener Flüssigkeitsfilm (5) erzeugt wird, der Film in freifallende Flüssigkeitsfäden (6) und die Fäden in Tropfen (7) zerlegt werden und die für die Information nicht benötigten Tropfen ausgesondert und aufgefangen werden.
