[origin: US4289642A] This invention relates to detergent compositions comprising at least one nonionic and/or zwitterionic tenside and from about 0.5 to 10 percent by weight of polysaccharide amino ethers having quaternary ammonium groups. Builder salts and other conventionally used detergent compositions may also be present. These detergent compositions have sizing and stiffening properties and make a secondary treatment of washed textiles unnecessary.

Textilwaschmittel, die 0,5 bis 10 Gew.-% an quartäre Gruppen aufweisenden Ethern von Polysacchariden enthalten, besitzen appretierende und steifende Eigenschaften und machen eine entsprechende Nachbehandlung der gewaschenen Textilien überflüssig. Die Polysaccharidether leiten sich bevorzugt vom Polygalactomannan des Guarmehls sowie von Stärke ab und enthalten pro Anhydrogalactomannan-Einheit bzw. Anhydroglucose-Einheit 0,05 bis 0,2 N-Trialkyl-N-alkyloxy-Gruppen. Die in den Waschmitteln enthaltenen Tenside sind nichtionisch und gegebenenfalls zwitterionisch, nicht jedoch anionisch. Buildersalze und sonstige übliche Waschmittelbestandteile können ebenfalls anwesend sein.
