Device for separating documents (12), particularly OCR-documents, from a stack (7), with at least two draw-off rollers (8) having a common rotation axis and arranged adjacent to a bearing surface (3) for gripping one surface of the documents (12) to be unstacked, the stack (7) being arranged on the said bearing surface with documents (12) on one edge, and with a separating gap (26) positioned beneath the draw-off rollers (8) with at least one feed roller (10) driven in the feed direction, characterized in that in each case the draw-off rollers (8) are connected by means of individual slip clutchers (9) with their drive shaft (8') and means (10, 11) are provided in the gap area which, at the separating gap (26), are able to impart to the document a delay with respect to the feed speed given to document (12) by the draw-off rollers (8) when the slip clutchers (9) do not slip.
