In this dispenser a conveyor belt (12) or the like, having a label ribbon (3) which can be transported via a transport roller (9), it is proposed in order to achieve a high labelling speed, combined with a compact design of the label dispenser, to drive the transport roller (9) at constant speed and to provide a support ribbon clamping means interacting with the transport roller (9) for the stepwise conveying of the label ribbon (3), by which means the support ribbon (8) is pressed against the transport roller (9) in a controlled manner and is thereby conveyed further or is released, with free running of the transport roller (9). By means of the continuous drive of the transport roller (9) and the controlled pressing-on of the label ribbon (3) only very slight masses need to be accelerated and braked, so that a label dispensing with very high frequency is made possible. <IMAGE>

Bei einem automatischen Etikettenspender zum Anbau an eine Verpackungsmaschine, ein Transportband (12) od. dgl. mit einem über eine Transportwalze (9) transportierbaren Etikettenband (3) wird zur Erreichung einer hohen Etikettiergeschwindigkeit bei kompaktem Aufbau des Etikettenspenders vorgeschlagen, die Transportwalze (9) mit konstanter Drehzahl anzutreiben und zum schrittweisen Transport des Etikettenbands (3) eine mit der Transportwalze (9) zusammenwirkende Trägerbandklemmvorrichtung vorzusehen, durch die gesteuert das Trägerband (8) gegen die Transportwalze (9) gepresst und dadurch weitertransportiert oder unter freiem Durchlauf der Transportwalze (9) freigegeben ist. Durch den fortwährenden Antrieb der Transportwalze (9) und das gesteuerte Anpressen des Etikettenbands (3) sind nur sehr geringe Massen zu beschleunigen und abzubremsen, so dass eine Etikettenabgabe mit sehr hoher Frequenz ermöglicht wird.
