Abstract (en)

A method of decontaminating radioactive components by subjecting the components to a water jet. The high pressure water jet contains 3 to 7% in weight abrasive grits for removing a radioactive oxide film from the surface of the components. The method provides a means by which components used in nuclear power plants may be decontaminated so that working personnel may inspect or repair the components without excessive radiation exposure.
