[origin: US4278213A] A control arrangement for a roll carrier in which the speed control is continuously optimized by a computer taking into account the moment of inertia of the roll. The computer responds to an initial value of the moment of inertia which is determined during acceleration of a new roll and from the instantaneous radius of the winding, providing a signal for regulating the gain of a speed controller connected to the drive for a roll on the carrier.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Regelanordnung für einen Rollenträger (3), bei der die Drehzahlregelung von einem Rechner (50; 70) fortlaufend unter Berücksichtigung des Trägheitsmoments (JW) des Wickels (2) optimiert wird. Erfindungsgemäß ermittelt de Rechner (50,70) die optimierte Reglerverstärkung des Drehzahlreglers (13; 69,77) aus einem während des Hochlaufs der neuen Rolle (1) bestimmten Anfangswert (JWo) des Trägheitsmoments und dem momentanen Radius (r) des Wickels (2).
