Abstract (en)

[origin: CA1153942A] The specification of the present invention discloses a roofing web comprising a fabric which is coated on both sides with PVC wherein the fabric is a full tight weave of high tenacity synthetic individual fibers or continuous yarns having a weight of 150 to 300 grams per square meter and a tenacity of at least 200 daN/5cm. Such a roofing web has high mechanical stability, is less sensitive to perforation caused by negligence or other damaged encountered in the building operation and is resistant to elongation or shrinkage caused by its own weight. The roof web according to the present invention has the advantages of high water vapour permeability and capable of prefabrication while still providing a durable stable roofing material which can be used in place of bitumen. The use of the roof web allows a more simplified installation procedure and can also be used in repairs of existing roofs.
