[origin: US4094973A] A protein hydrolysate for medicinal use is produced from the feet of freshly killed young fowl. The protein so produced is an extract of polypeptides and amino acids. It is in the form of a powder or gel, each of which is suitable for topical application to living cells of animals and humans in order to assist healing. The method for producing the protein hydrolysate comprises treatment of the feet of fowl or some other protein source, washed and divided into particles, with a dilute acid, preferably acetic acid, and drying of the resulting solution under low heat conditions until a powder or gel is obtained. The protein hydrolysate may be used in periodic topical application to a traumatised region (wound). In the case where the treatment is to be applied under the surface, an aqueous solution of the protein may be injected into the region to be treated.

Un hydrolysat de proteines a usage medical est produit a partir des pattes de jeunes volailles recemment tuees. La proteine, ainsi produite, est un extrait de polypeptides et d'acides amines. Elles se presentent sous la forme d'une poudre ou d'un colloide, chacune de ces formes etant appropriee a une utilisation superficielle sur des cellules vivantes d'animaux et d'etre humains pour favoriser la cicatrisation. Le procede de production de l'hydrolysat de proteine comprend le traitement des pattes de volailles lavees et fragmentees ou une autre source de proteines avec un acide dilue, de preference de l'acide acetique, et le sechage de la solution resultante dans des conditions de basse temperature pour donner une poudre ou un colloide. Le procede d'utilisation de l'hydrolysat de proteines comprend l'application periodique superficielle sur une zone traumatisee (blessure). Si le traitement doit se faire sous la surface une solution aqueuse de proteines peut etre injectee dans la zone a traiter.
