Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung feuerbeständiger Bauteile, wobei auf eine Magnesiumoxidchloridschaumplatte Brandschutzkitt an den Verzugs- bzw. Riß-gefährdeten Stellen aufgetragen wird. Der Brandschutzkitt kann Intumeszenzmittel und kugelige oder nahezu kugelige Füllstoffe enthalten.
