A hoeing machine for loosening the earth between plants aligned in rows has blades (e) attached to pivotable levers (f). The levers (f) can pivot apart by means of compressed-air cylinders (g), in such a way as to prevent damage to the plants. The compressed-air cylinders (g) are controlled by an operator by pressing a button at the rear end of a control rod (c) guiding the levers (f). The use of rapid-response compressed-air actuating devices makes it possible for the earth to be hoed close up to the plants. Instead of manual operation, the guidance of the device along the rows of plants and the actuation of the compressed-air cylinders can also be controlled via mechanical and/or optical sensors.

Eine Hackmaschine zum Auflockern des Erdreichs zwischen in Reihen ausgerichteten Pflanzen weist an verschwenkbaren Hebeln (f) angebrachte Klingen (e) auf. Die Hebel (f) lassen sich mittels Druckluftzylindern (g) derart auseinanderschwenken, daß eine Beschädigung der Pflanzen vermieden wird. Die Druckluftzylinder (g) werden dabei von einer Bedienungsperson durch Knopfdruck am hinteren Ende einer die Hebel (f) führenden Steuerstange (c) beaufschlagt. Die Verwendung schnell ansprechender Druckluft-Betätigungseinrichtungen macht es möglich, daß das Erdreich bis in dichtem Abstand an die Pflanzen heran gehackt wird. Anstelle manueller Bedienung können die Führung der Vorrichtung längs den Pflanzenreihen und die Betätigung der Druckluftzylinder auch über mechanische und/oder optische Fühler gesteuert werden.
