1. Apparatus for manufacturing wood wool, having a blade carriage (1) which can move reciprocally in the direction of grain of the delivered pieces of wood and on which blades (10, 19) are fastened which project with respect to the blade carriage and which are inclined at an acute angle to the inner area of the blade carriage, groups of blades being provided in each of the two end areas of the blade carriage (1) transversely to its direction of movement, characterized in that the groups of blades comprise in each case a one-piece shaping blade (19) whose straight cutting edge (20) is interrupted, and nearer to the end (1') in question of the blade carrier (1) in each case a planing blade (10) which has a straight, continuous cutting edge (11), both shaping blades (19) with respect to the blade carriage (1), the planing blade (10) and the shaping blade (19) are non-reusable blades, and preferably the planing blades (10) and/or the shaping blades (19) have cutting edges (11 or 20) on both sides and have a symmetrical cross section.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Herstellung von Holzwolle mit einem in der Faserrichtung der zugeführten Holzstüke (27) hin und herbewegbaren Messerschlitten, (1) an dem gegenüber demselben vorstehende Messer (10, 19) befestigt sind. Bei dieser Vorrichtung sind in jedem der beiden Endbereiche des Messerschlittens (1) quer zu dessen Bewegungsrichtung jeweils ein vorzugweise einstückiges Profilmesser (19), dessen vornehmlich gerade Schneide (20; 31) von Lücken (23; 32) unterbrochen ist sowie näher beim betreffenden Ende (1') des Messerschlittens (1) jeweils ein eine gerade, durchgehende Schneide (11) aufweisendes Hobelmesser (10) angeordnet.
