[origin: WO8000880A1] An optoelectric cell, more particularly for display, comprises a working electrode (4) in the form of an interpolated layer, especially in a graphite form, a counter-electrode (2), an ionic conductor (3) inserted between the two electrodes and possibly a reference electrode. With the supply of an electrical voltage, ions arising form the ionic conductor are piled up in the layered structure, producing a visible optical modification of the surface of the working electrode.

Une cellule electro-optique, notamment pour l'affichage, comporte une electrode de travail (4) en forme de couche intercalaire, notamment en graphite, une contre-electrode (2), un conducteur ionique (3) insere entre les deux electrodes et le cas echeant un electrode de reference. Par application d'une tension electrique des ions provenant du conducteur ionique sont accumules dans la structure en couche, en produisant une modification optique visible de la surface de l'electrode de travail.
