Afin d'empecher toute falsification d'une carte de credit ou d'identite (60), on applique, sur une zone determinee, une marque de couleur definissant la longueur d'un trajet ou delimitant un trajet. La longueur du trajet est convertie en donnees de marquage numeriques et enregistree sur une piste d'enregistrement (65). Lors de la verification de l'authenticite de la carte (60), la longueur du trajet est de nouveau etablie et convertie en donnees de marquage numeriques qui doivent coincider avec les donnees enregistrees sur la piste d'enregistrement (65).
