[origin: EP0020834A1] An electrical connector assembly and a latching member for such an assembly. An electrical connector (4) has a wire-receiving face (10) through which wires (3) can be inserted into slotted wire-receiving portions of terminals (22). For mounting the connector (4) in an opening (92) in a panel (90), the wire-receiving face (10) is enclosed by a cover (6) having resilient latch arms (84) which serve to latch the connector (4) in the opening (92), shoulders (88) on the latch arms (84) engaging one side of the panel (90) and shoulders (89) on the cover (6) engaging the other side of the panel (90). The latch arms (84) are flexible towards and away from end walls (16) of the connector (4). The latch arms may alternatively be provided on separate latching members attachable to the ends of the connector.
