Abstract (en)
[origin: US4330218A] A method of, and apparatus for, engaging and disengaging a selection motor drive hub and a daisy wheel print element. Included therein and utilized therefor are means for permitting a pivoting of a ribbon cartridge and means for connecting the ribbon cartridge to a selection motor. The motor and cartridge are connected such that upon a pivoting of the ribbon cartridge for (1) a print element change, the hub is translated out of engagement with the print element, and (2) continued printing, the hub is translated into engagement with the print element.

L'accouplement et le désaccouplement du moyeu d'entraînement (13) du moteur de sélection (7) et de l'élément d'impression en forme de marguerite contenu dans la cartouche (8) sont réalisés grâce à des moyens pour permettre le pivotement de la cartouche de ruban (20) vers la position (69) et des moyens pour connecter la cartouche de ruban au moteur de sélection. Ces moyens sont constitués par le câble (54) attaché à la partie inférieure (56) du mécanisme de cartouche de ruban, passant sur la languette (22) du chariot (10) et lié à l'autre bout à une vis d'ancrage (50) fixé dans le bâti arrière (51) du moteur de sélection (7). Lors du pivotement, le câble (54) passe sur une came (66) fixée au mécanisme de cartouche. Lors d'un changement d'élément d'impression le pivotement de la cartouche provoque le recul du moteur (7) et le désengagement du moyeu (13). Lors de l'abaissement de la cartouche le moyeu est ramené en engagement. Facilite le changement de l'élément d'impression.
