[origin: US4357508A] Disclosed is a multipole high-voltage circuit breaker of the type comprising a housing into which two stationary contacts per pole extend and a rotatable current bridge which connects and disconnects the stationary contacts upon rotation thereof. Both the stationary contacts and the contacts on the movable bridge are provided with preliminary switching points or contacts and main contact points or contacts. The preliminary contact points make contact before the main contact points and break contact after the main contact points. The arrangement permits arcing at the preliminary contact points only and thereby increases the life of the main contact points.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen mehrpoligen Hochspannungs-Lastschalter mit einem Gehäuse (1), in das pro Pol zwei sich gegenüberliegende ortsfeste Kontaktstücke (2) ragen. Die Kontaktstücke (2) sind durch eine Strombrücke 3 verbindbar, die von einer Antriebswelle (4) getragen ist. Die Kontaktstücke (2) sind als Kontaktmesser ausgebildet und besitzen jeweils eine als Hauptschaltstelle ausgebildete Verdickung (2a) und eine als Vorschaltstelle ausgebildete Einschnürung (2b). Die Enden der Strombrücke (3) dagegen bestehen jeweils aus zwei durch ein Kontaktstück (2) spreizbaren Kontaktbacken (3a). Die inneren Frontkanten der Kontaktbacken (3a) sind einwärts gerichtet und bilden zu den Vorschaltstellen der Kontaktstücke (2) korrespondierende Vorschaltstellen. Die Innenflanken der Kontakbacken (3a) sind als zu den Hauptschaltstellen (2a) der Kontaktstücke (2) korrespondierende Hauptschaltstellen ausgebildet. Der Vorteil dieser Ausbildung ist, daß die Hauptschaltstellen frei von Abbrand bleiben, da sich Vorzündlichtbogen und Abschalt-Lichtobogen an den Vorschaltstellen ansetzen.
