[origin: US4319624A] A machine for the blast cleaning of castings has a drum with a top opening through which abrasive from overhead abrasive throwing wheels is directed onto castings in the drum. The drum is oscillated about its axis through an angle of about 120 DEG and has two floor parts with an angle somewhat less than this between them. Oscillation of the drum makes for tumbling of the casting resting on the floor. The wall of the drum, in addition to the floor parts, has inwardly sloping parts next to the opening. The wall is made up of bars wedge-joined to support rings, sound being absorbed by rubber strips between them and the rings.

Bei einer Putzmachine für Gußstücke mit einer Putztrommel (1), die mit einem Zentriwinkel von ca. 120° um ihre Längsachse oszilierend angetrieben, von einer stirnseitigen Einfüllöffnung (9) zu einer gegenüberliegenden Austragsöffnung geneigt angeordnet und mit einer sich in der Längsachse erstreckenden Strahlöffnung (16) versehen ist, und mit ein oder mehr oberhalb der Strahlöffnung ortsfest angeordneten Schleuderrädern wird eine vollständige Umwälzung der Gußstücke unabhängig von deren Form und dem Füllungsgrad der Putztrommel (1) dadurch erreicht, daß die Wandung der Trommel (1) polygonartigen Querschnitt besitzt und zwei einen Winkel (α) von ca. 120° zwischen sich einschleißende Bodenteile (17) und sich daran zur Stahlöffnung (16) anschließende Wandteile (18) aufweist. Die Wandteile (18) sind so ausgebildet, daß die Wandung der Trommel (1) im Bereich des Randes der Strahlöffnung (16) nach innen eingezogen ist, wobei Wand- und Bodenteile (18, 17) an einer Tragkonstruktion (11, 12) lösbar befestigt sind.
