Gable tile of the type comprising a side portion (2) outside of the roofing as well as a portion (3) adjacent to said side portion (2) to allow the gable tile (1) to be hooked onto the roofing on the one hand through overlap by a first adjacent tile (4) and by a second gable tile (1) directly located above and on the other hand by transversely holding with respect to the first adjacent tile (4), characterized in that said adjacent portion (3) comprises on its face (3a) in front of the roofing a first recess (5) with a nib (6) located towards the covered end portion (1a) of the tile (1) and providing for the positioning and longitudinal locking thereof onto a counter-batten lath (7) of the roofing, and a second recess (9) located towards the opposite covering end portion (1b) of the tile (1) and providing for the positioning of said gable tile (1) through overlap upon an adjacent second tile (4) directly located underneath the first one.
